Horner: 'Red Bull's got the strongest line-up'
Red Bull Racing has got the strongest line-up for the upcoming Formula 1-season, says Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner in an exclusive interview with BNR.
'A lot depends on how we develop on the engine, but with the drivers we don't give anything away to anybody', Horner says about his pupils Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo. 'We've got the strongest line-up.'
The team will definitely be faster than last year, Horner believes, but he is unsure whether they can get closer to Mercedes. 'We're hoping to give them a hard time.'
'Max is getting more and more experienced, he is now entering his third year in Formula 1. He had an amazing season last year, some great races that he produced. As he gains experience, you will only going to see him become better. Max was already the star of last year, and I think that star can only get even brighter', Horner says. He does not want to set a particular target for Verstappen this season. On Monday, Verstappen drove his first 89 laps testing his new RB13 in Barcelona. 'Max had a really great day', Horner adds.
Verstappen's team mate Ricciardo had a less fortunate first week testing the new Red Bull Racing car. The Australian had to park the RB13 after four laps, due to technical problems with the crankshaft sensor followed by a battery charger issue.
